- This week had a job I was called in to treat an odour after someone had done a water damage remediation
- Clean water, apartment building, nice wool loop pile
- Just a slightly funky odour, I was instructed by the PM to treat the staining, apply antimicrobial and provide an assessment
- First things first, I checked moisture content… and found the carpet still saturated in areas!
- All that was wrong was excess moisture. Fortunately it had been fresh water and cold temps, meaning mould hadn’t become an issue
- Just had to install drying equipment to dry the carpet out as fast as possible
- Did that, treated the slight water mark and good to go
- As usual, call in non-professional and these are the results you can get. Given slightly different circumstances, this could have been a carpet replacement AND serious health implications!
